We welcome applications from talented and committed children and teenagers who are interested in professional opportunities across theatre, television, film, live performance and commercial work.

Applicants should:

  • Be aged between 6 and 18

  • Have a genuine passion for performing

  • Demonstrate ability in acting, singing, dance or musical theatre

  • Be willing to prepare for auditions and self-tapes when required

  • Have the support of a parent or guardian

  • Be able to meet the travel and availability requirements associated with professional work

Previous professional experience is not essential. We consider each application individually, taking into account the performer’s ability, potential, commitment and suitability for the agency.

WHO CAN APPLY?

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Professional representation requires commitment and flexibility from both the young performer and their parent or guardian.

Around 99% of initial auditions begin with a self-tape filmed at home, often with a quick turnaround. If a casting team would like to see your child again, recalls and meetings are usually held in Central London. These may take place after school, on Saturdays or occasionally during school hours.

Parents or guardians may need to accompany their child to auditions, recalls and professional jobs. Some roles can also require time away from school, so it is important that your child’s school is supportive of professional opportunities.

Casting briefs are often highly specific, with requirements relating to age, height, appearance, skills, accents, languages or location. This means opportunities can vary considerably: there may be quieter periods without auditions, followed by several opportunities within a short space of time.

Please have the following ready before beginning the application:

  • The applicant’s full name, date of birth and contact details

  • Parent or guardian details

  • Information about performance training and experience

  • Details of any previous professional credits

  • A recent, clear headshot

  • A recent full-length photograph

  • A link to an audition video or self-tape

  • Details of any relevant skills, accents or additional abilities

Photographs submitted with your initial application do not need to be professionally taken, but they should be recent, clear and unfiltered. If your child is offered representation, professional industry-standard headshots will be required as part of the onboarding process.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Your audition video gives us an opportunity to see your performance ability, confidence and personality.

Please film all videos in landscape and include:

  • A short monologue or poem of approximately one minute

  • A musical theatre song performed with a backing track or piano accompaniment

  • A short dance clip, if you dance

  • A short introduction video of no more than 45 seconds

In your introduction, please tell us:

  • Your name

  • Your age

  • Your height

  • Where you live

  • Whether you are currently represented by another agency

  • A few fun facts about yourself so we can get to know your personality

Upload your videos to Google Drive, WeTransfer or another approved video-sharing platform and include the link in the application form.

Before submitting, please check that:

  • Each link opens correctly

  • The necessary viewing permissions have been enabled

  • A password is included if one is required

  • The links will remain active while your application is reviewed

Videos cannot be uploaded directly through the website.

YOUR AUDITION VIDEO

Once your application has been submitted, Stroud Talent will review the information, photographs and audition material provided.

We carefully consider every application, but as a selective agency, we are unable to offer representation to every applicant. Submitting an application does not guarantee a meeting or an offer of representation.

Once your submission has been reviewed, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to let you know the outcome. If we feel your child would be a good fit for Stroud Talent, we’ll invite you to discuss the next steps and begin the onboarding process.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

IF REPRESENTATION IS OFFERED

If your child is offered a place with Stroud Talent, they will need professional industry-standard actors’ headshots before they can be submitted for professional opportunities.

Once their headshots are ready, they will also need a Spotlight membership. Spotlight is the UK’s leading casting platform and is used by Stroud Talent to submit clients for suitable professional work.

Spotlight charges an annual membership fee, which is paid directly to Spotlight. Current pricing and full onboarding requirements will be explained if representation is offered.

Stroud Talent clients are also expected to attend regular agency masterclasses in London. These sessions support their continued development and help the agency prepare them for professional auditions and work.

PARENT OR GUARDIAN CONSENT

All applications for performers under 18 must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.

By submitting an application, you confirm that:

  • You are the applicant’s parent or legal guardian and have authority to apply on their behalf

  • The information provided is accurate and complete

  • You give Stroud Talent permission to review the application, photographs and audition material
